Heart Sling

Clinical studies have begun on a non invasive 'heart sling' to treat mitral valve regurgitation.

Mardil Inc. has been working on the BACE (Basal Annuloplasty of the Cardia Externally) device since 2004. The BACE encircles the heart and uses saline filled chambers to provide adjustable pressure to the heart's wall, helping the mitral valve to close properly.

Although not yet available, a previous study has indicated improved mitral valve function in patients.
